Would it help if I prefaced with "In my experience"? Because that's all it is. I'm not stating it as a rule or nothing. But growing up in East Texas and not having an interest in hunting or sports, I was kind of a nothing among the guys, apart from a small circle of good friends I made in elementary school. Girls were artier, "cooler," especially in college. OP is really on-point about stuttering making you much more sensitive. I've been told by multiple girls that I was a big change of pace from the vast majority of guys they had hung out with before.
