I think that’s the same for all stutterers, if I’m not mistaken? I’ve long believed that stuttering is nothing more than a mental thing —caused by trauma. So it starts all in our heads. That’s the reason why we don’t stutter when we are alone, or when we sing. We are well capable of speaking normally, but the common neurological pathway changes as soon as there’s fear of stuttering in front of others. It’s a pathway we can’t seem to get out of. I’m not yet one of the people who’ve overcome it, but I do believe it’s achievable.
