Several good ideas for self-help. #2 and #3 need clarification. Taking a deep breath before speaking and/or during stuttering is a a) unnecessary 2) fuels stuttering. To prove my point please do this exercise: place your palm on on your sternum and WITHOUT taking a breath count out loud to six on an exhale. That is evidence that a person does not have to inhale before speaking. If you are mid-stutter and you inhale, you may trigger a second and larger stutter. The two ingredients of a stutter are air supply and muscular tension. Look up PEEP on-line. It is the positive pressure keeping our lungs open at resting.
