It all depends on your stutter. I am reading a book that actually helps me with my stutter and one of the fundamental rules are 1) hear as much fluency from yourself and 2) hear as less stutter from yourself. It will be hard to explain the whole context here but essentially your brain will memorize a fluent speech more than your stutter and it will naturally become better. This is just a trick for your brain to skip a hard letter but you don't have to do it all the time. Just for the start to eliminate the fear of a first letter and get your brain used to fluent speech. Then you don't have to do these tricks.
