You learn both physical as well as psychological techniques. The physical part is mainly coastal breathing with some other things. The psychological part teaches you to be very assertive to counteract the fear and manage relapses or difficult speaking situations. This includes honestly telling people you stutter, using deliberate dysfluency (controlled on-purpose stutters) and how to conquer your feared sounds/situations.
