Stuttering has a Purpose There has to be a reason. It has to fulfill some kind of need or provide some benefit. To our mind it serves a purpose and that is why we started blocking. Probably around childhood. I believe that to stop the vicious circle of stuttering we have to be aware what that purpose is. So we can adress whatever that need is on a healthier way. Then blcoking has no reason to be. This are the following purpose´s describe on my book: * Protecting from being hurt * Attention. Make people notice. * Sense of control. * Revenge or get back at someone. For instance, if your childhood purpose is to get back at your mother (so you developed blocking behaviour), first you need to let go of that avenge in order to stop the stuttering behaviour as well. It is very interesting. I believe it can be multiple purpose too. For me is the need for protection from being hurt, attention and revenge. The first one hold more weight.
