Before you look for a solution, before you apply any tips and tricks, before you take any substance to help you speak, CHANGE YOUR MINDSET about your stutter. If you don't change your mindset, you'll never overcome the fear of stuttering. Without overcoming this fear, you cannot overcome your stutter. Alchohol is temporarily forcing the change in your mindset, but you can achieve this permanently without using alchohol. there are tons of other aspects to this. But its better to work with a therapist that specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for social anxiety, tailoredmfor your stutter - if you stutter occassionally only in some situations, don't terrorize yourself anticipating it. That'll 100% make your stutter worse. Do not assign negative connotation to your stutter. - if it happens, it happens. Do not try to change things you cannot control, and do not kick yourself afterwards if things go bad. These are the two worst things youcan do for your speech and for your mental sanity - theres nothing wrong with stuttering. You are fearing the judgement from others. There are things you can do as part of cognitive behavioral therapy to overcome the fear of judgement. One thing you can do is to voluntarily stutter in low stakes situations, and gradually do it in higher and higher stakes situation. If you want to talk over the phone let me know.
