I’ve stuttered for as long as I can remember and I am 26. My anxiety around it has kicked up too within the last year making my stutter more prominent, or at least that’s what I believe in my head. What I suggest, what has helped me, is to try clearing your mind and talking on an exhale. Try to think back to how you got by before your anxiety got worse. A lot of people have some sort of anxiety and most of our stuttering is just all in our heads. Force yourself into various conversations with people to help get your speaking confidence back up. Once you start regaining confidence, your anxiety driven stuttering will go away. I still stutter on a daily basis and block up hard on letters like B,D, and P. But the more I practice saying them in real life conversations, the less I’ll fear those words. You have to face your fears head on in order to get past them.
