You CAN get a job. Ive worked in many kitchen, from dishwasher to chef, and never have I worked with a bubbly person in the kitchen. That's why we're in the kitchen, away from customers. Have you ever been to Walmart? Or almost any fast food joint. Or a warehouse. Some/most of these people are not built to communicate with humans. I'm saying this because you DO NOT know what the employer is looking for. If they ask why you want to work at the restaurant, just say "Because I need a job, like everyone else who works there. I'll work my ass off, but I'm not great at speaking to people." I'd give you shot if you applied with me. Especially now, when the labor market s tight. If your heart is beating, you should be able to get one. Maybe try applying in person and smile as much as you can.
