Can truly relate with you !! This is because stuttering has become a habit and it's become a part of the muscle memory. Try looking at yourself in the mirror and reduce the unusual openings of the mouth and try to regularise your breathing. I know its not easy to do while speaking with strangers but just give it a try. Different methods work for different people.
