As far as I know, no one knows the 'one true cause.' People have said genetics, trauma, wiring in your brain, etc etc. More than likely it's not going to be the same for everyone. For me I can only think that mine came from genetics, because my grandpa stuttered. Thing is, he stopped when he was 21, so who knows if that's the cause or not.
