Wow that comment about your father made me a bit upset, I’m guessing he doesn’t stutter at all but you do? Maybe you’re the only one in the family that does?? So the way how I prepare for presentations is I kind of wing it… but let me explain. In my senior year of college I had 2 presentations I had to prepare for and I learned the material well. But i purposely didn’t write a script. This is because if I overthink on what I have to say or anticipate not trying to stutter, I stutter really bad. So its at a point I have to trick my nerves in order to speak well. What I did was practice speaking to myself at home (when I speak to myself I don’t stutter at all when nobody is around) and give out the presentation and my goal is to summarize and get my points across. Complete the presentation start to finish and then i can internally make comments on the way of how I feel like I presented the information. Then on the actual day I chew gum during the presentation. I’m not sure if there is science behind it but when I chew gum I seem to be more fluent. I hope this helps
