I hope this works for you. I never stuttered from birth but emulated an older brother that did and developed one, it got worse as parents were really tough on me, including peers growing up. It wasn't all bad in Uni but after I was mostly home and it got so worse I couldn't even say anything. I moved to a different state and got a job as a teacher and even though I loved my job and the kids loved my teaching I do stutter severely some days, it never affected my self image as I'd made peace being a stutterer for life, it only did when I stuttered severely. Which I found was flunctuating. Some days I spoke well and others I spoke like a dunce (you all should be familiar with not being able to sound intelligible because of your speech). Long story short there came a day when I woke up and every single word I spoke felt automatic, like my brain and mouth were touching and the words literally rolled off my mouth. Normally I repeat words, have stops and it cycles between those two actions but for this one day I spoke like most people did and many were surprised by my humor and speech. It did not last beyond that day. And I could never pinpoint the reason. Browsing online about a different topic, I watched a video about recovering hair by massaging ones scalp to increase blood flow. I started doing that 40 mins a day as my hairline was receding before. Getting to the 2nd month of vigorous scalp massages, till my head is literally hot I noticed a click at the base of my neck(please do not do this to that extent as it's just an anecdotal observation and a hypothesis). Anyway i sprained my neck doing that and since then my speech has been improving and I'm continuing with the scalp massages, using both my palms and fingertips to caress my head everyday and my speech has been improving by leaps and bounds. As ridiculous as it sounds, this in my opinion has improved my speech. A reason I'm convinced it worked or is working in my case is anytime i lie down horizontally on my bed or anywhere, my speech is fine or close to, anytime my head feels like it's well rested I speak clearly, I don't have anxiety(I used to) and don't have problems interacting but I did grow to be a loner because of my poor speech. I'll continue doing this and you might also try this and I hope it works for you. Don't let that stutter quench the fire in your mind and the person who wants to be heard.
