Yeah, it can be weird like that, right? Similar to your situation, if I am trying to be covert and I'm in a position of authority to someone else I am subconsciously thinking "I can't stutter, don't screw up" and it makes it worse. The more I "let the cat out of the bag" and stutter a bit here and there (but try not to get serious blocks going on) and see that the other person doesn't care, the overall better I feel and the easier I am able to communicate. ​ Coffee and beer can sometimes make my stutter worse, but you know what? Stuttering can't control every aspect of my life, you gotta live a little sometimes. :-)
