The expanded vocabulary I developed as a coping mechanism has helped me a lot as a journalist (although it also meant I was petrified to do interviews for the longest time). Most any time I feel I’m going to have trouble with a word, I’ve got two on backup. Additionally, I’ve had multiple girls tell me that it’s attractive when I stutter. My stutter isn’t bad nowadays (think Bob Newhart), but the first time someone said that I thought she was making fun of me. Then I heard it a couple more times and I realized that some people are just fucking weird.
