Yeah.. I mean I get that but I don’t know. Sounds like they’re trying to validate you out loud. I personally try to have more sensitivity when I speak about other peoples impediments or disabilities. But I’m a high school teacher who has a couple of special needs classes. So perhaps I’ve had more practice. I also took it all like a champ and laughed along. Which further makes me feel shame because inside I feel deflated. You guys know how long and awkward that can conversation can be when you have to explain to someone why it’s not cool to laugh. Side note, from my experience, kids don’t tell you it’s cute. They say it’s interesting and ask questions.
