Worst: This actually happened on a number of occasions. I work in tech as a Consultant so I have to do presentations pretty frequently to clients. I can remember at least twice stuttering during the presentation and being fired the very next day. And the actual information presented was good. I also had a presentation in college that did not go well. The teacher knew I stuttered and tried to give me a C. I was a straight A student so I contested it and got a B. I still think about that almost 20 years later. That one presentation is why I only graduated cum laude and not magna cum laude!!! Best: I have a few! I worked at a tech company for 4 years and during the last year I got very sick (presumably because they sent me to China). I was on massive amounts of steroids and my usually moderate stutter became incredibly severe. They laid me off and I knew it was coming. I did my research and I knew what to say during the firing. I stuttered through it but I got out d-d-d-discrimination. They gave me a HUGE severance package, 6 months + COBRA (really expensive health insurance in the USA). My husband and I bought a house and I had another job 2 weeks later! Another one was when I had a presentation in college about 1 year after that teacher I mentioned before tried to give me a C. I was so mad. I practiced and practiced until I had all of the muscle memory down. I FUCKING NAILED IT! One girl witnessed both presentations and she told me I did an amazing job. Success is the best revenge, my friends! Don't let anything hold you back!
