There is Hope!! Wow, it's been a while since I was last here. Hope you're all doing well! Let's jump right in - and talk about hope. Or, rather, the lack of hope we feel at our worst speaking moments. When we're so consumed with the negatives it can be so easy to lose sight of what's possible. We feel that there's no hope for improvement. That there's no way of changing our circumstances and we're stuck with this forever. We view our stutter as a bad part of us that we can't seem to shake off. Since it's always there and always causing issues for us (sorry, you're delusional if you think otherwise). But...there is hope. We have to believe we can change our circumstances. That things can get better and we can become better speakers. This is what's called having a GROWTH mindset. When we believe there's a way we can be better speakers and improve our lives. Having this faith in yourself is one part of the puzzle though. As it takes a lot of time, effort, and research to change your ways. Some see this as too much work and end up doing nothing and staying in the same place....then complain when things don't go their way (p.s. don't be that guy) Without going into detail: when you improve your quality of life, your speech will improve as an indirect result. This means engaging in practices that improve your physical, mental, and emotional health. On top of any specific speech exercises necessary. Can't expect to keep the same mediocre regime and expect your life to dramatically change. As long as you believe there is hope, that's all that matters. Action without belief is just as bad as doing nothing at all. Staying proactive about your speech gets you results. Keeping a growth mindset + positive attitude gets you results. See where I'm going with this? If this is too much to read, I did make a video about this (a while ago that I forgot to share with you all). Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT95k5FsdmA
