It is covered under the "disability" umbrella in the USA. I even know someone who went on disability due to his stutter. He was an engineer and college professor for 30 years prior to going on disability. With that being said, you would have a far more fulfilling life living your life and not allowing stuttering hold you back. There have been times when I wanted to give up, but ultimately I'm glad I stuck it out.
