I felt that so much and I bet a lot of fellow stutterers did too. I feel like most non-stutterers don‘t just not know what it means to stutter, but also have a wrong picture of stuttering and people who stutter. My speech therapies so far didn‘t help at all and that‘s why I simply gave up on them entirely. At the age of 31, however, I tried simple (=not stutter specific) psycho-therapy and that really changed my life like very little so far ever did. My goal of the psycho-therapy was not to get rid of stuttering but to come to terms with it psychologically. Stuttering had a very bad impact on my mental health as I assume it does to you. For me the therapy changed the way I perceive/ look at my stutter entirely and that changed my life quality as well. You might give it a try, what‘s there to lose? (I hope where you live you get free therapy sessions!)
