First: Don't pay attention to Dr. Phil. Listen to actual professionals instead. Second: If you feel like doing speech therapy again, definitely go do that! Therapy can be fickle in that it's not necessarily a clear course to improvement, and it may require more patience than you'd expect. But it sounded like you were able to make progress, which is definitely worth something. Third: Do you have anyone close to you who you can communicate with about these things? Carrying it around on your own can be hard. Fourth: Stutter tends to vary over time, so maybe it'll get better on its own. That's not exactly something that counts as a guarantee, though. Fifth: _It's not your fault_.
