Is it possible to have confidence as someone who stutters? I’ve stuttered off and on my whole life and I noticed that when I have conversations during a period when I’m not stuttering they go smoothly and I’m able to build confidence in social situations. However, when I attempt to have conversations during periods when I am stuttering people don’t really respond the same way. Like they automatically think that something is wrong with me and don’t listen to what I’m saying as they would if I wasn’t stuttering. When I stutter Ive found that it’s harder to build connections in general. I also get the sense that they just feel sorry for me or find it funny.
