This is massively theoretical. I agree it’s a mental disorder, but psychological, not neurological. Stuttering can also be called a “learned” behavior that perpetuates itself by causing painful memories and embarrassment. Not like hearing loss or bad vision. While hearing and eyesight may go bad, stuttering stems from psychological issues with fear, anxiety, perfection, planning, OCD, etc. Nothing at all with physical components of the brain. While a stutterer may need to “re-wire” their brain to cure themselves (which is an actual thing… Neuroplasticity), it is based on positive and negative emotional reactions rather than physiological. Huge difference. Good luck out there
