I still remember my speech therapist 6 years ago that I only went to for like 5 sessions because thats all my insurance covered. She figured out that for me the best thing to do wasnt techniques. It was desenzitation. The more I did something the more confident I got and the less I stuttered. It all started off with just making simple phone calls asking what time does a store close. She told me although we have texting and email a lot of my adult life will be spent talking on the phone for customer service and what not like billing issues or internet troubles. Avoiding it wasn't going to be an option for long. Same with ordering food. Order what you want, not what you can say. Now idgaf if I have to make a phone call for things like that. I'll just pick up the phone and do it. And I'll order what I really want that day.
