Any explanation for this? As a kid, my stutter was never an issue and took on leadership roles where I had to talk to large groups frequently. I knew I had a stutter growing up, but it wasn’t an issue (I even gave a valedictory speech in college). But as an adult, it seems that it’s become worse (not hindering my day-to-day but still bad enough where I feel sad about it). I’m a lawyer now and in a role where I need to communicate ideas daily to my teammates and clients to progress career wise, and now feel anxious about speaking. I feel like I think about this issue way more often than I used to as a kid and now my stutter is more frequent. Is there a reason why this could’ve happened or an explanation? Planning to see a speech therapist soon.
