I’m so sorry. Very relatable. I still remember when we had a substitute teacher at school and she went around asking everyone what their name was. Naturally, I stuttered on my name and she laughed and said “are you sure?” Everyone laughed, I laughed then I went home and cried. And that was years ago. Have you tried any speech therapy exercises to try and get around it? One is bouncing, where you intentionally stutter on the word. I don’t know why this is a technique but it helps people, so you would say b-b-bounce so you can actually get the word out instead of getting ‘stuck’. Another is breathing through the word so you’d take a deep breath and say the word on the out breath. Sounds weird but works for some people. As others have said, you are more than just your stammer. I would perhaps suggest that you make an effort to introduce yourself to people more so that you get the practice in. Sounds scary but worth it as you’ll need to introduce yourself a lot throughout your life. If you do get stuck on your name, would you be able to stop and say something like “bear with me, I have a stammer”?
