I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, that sucks. Not being able to communicate effectively is extremely frustrating and it must be scary having it affect potential jobs. I recommend you seek a Board Certificated Fluency Specialist Speech - Language Therapist. The specialist is critical for this situation. I struggled with stuttering my entire life and saw various SLPs through school. They were all very nice but weren't what I needed. It wasn't until college that I was introduced to a fluency specialist. Changed my life. At my age, 23 now, a big part of stuttering therapy is the counseling aspect. This means talking about my stutter and how it affects my life. We work on "fluency shaping and desensitization" too, but just talking about and working through my deep rooted stuttering problems have been life changing. If it is an option, I highly recommend it. Best of luck friend. Side note: this is will not be an overnight change nor change your stutter. But it is worth it.
