Let me lay it out like this...   >I find it hard to speak, so I want to stop speaking. - This, I believe, is a misunderstanding. Let's rephrase it: - >I find it hard to speak **without error**, so I want to stop speaking. - Let's expand that one a little: - >I find it hard to speak without error, so I want to stop speaking **regardless of whether there'll be any error or not**. - So you see, it's not the _error_ that's holding you back. It's the _fear_. - Do this instead: - >**I'm going to speak regardless of whether there'll be any error or not**.   A stutter is not a reason to be silent. It is, however, a reason to promise yourself to keep speaking.
