For the first question: when you go to a doctor, they will give you these screens to fill out yourself. They are just screens not diagnoses and all they do is alert the doc to a possible problem the may require intervention. You can do these at home and take them in with you. The score interpretation is in the document itself. Generally a high score means you may have a condition. Just so you know, both these conditions are highly treatable. For depression: [https://www.mdcalc.com/phq-9-patient-health-questionnaire-9](https://www.mdcalc.com/phq-9-patient-health-questionnaire-9) For anxiety: [https://www.mdcalc.com/gad-7-general-anxiety-disorder-7](https://www.mdcalc.com/gad-7-general-anxiety-disorder-7) My friend in Psyche say that in Women, their emotions are like a 64 crayon box, and mens emotions are like an 8 crayon box. Its not that men have fewer emotions, its just that they manifest them in fewer "flavors" , mostly because that's how they are socialized. So, for instance: frustration, sadness, pain, impatience confusion, stress, denial, rejection, etc may all be manifested as anger. Because anger is what is most socially acceptable. Women however have more "permission" to express a greater variety of Flavors. So what I use our family of 2 is this periodic chart of human emotions: [https://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/8934-a-periodic-chart-of-human-emotions/](https://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/8934-a-periodic-chart-of-human-emotions/) Everytime he begins to express anger, I send him to the fridge (the chart is on the fridge) to really figure out what he is truly feeling and identify it. He almost never comes back feeling simply anger but rather one or more of all those other emotions I just mentioned. He is also so much more emotionally mature and also empathic after we instituted the chart method. I'd wager that you feel more emotions, they just manifest as fear. Fear is dominant. In many people anger is dominant. In others its emptiness which is more dangerous to the self than others. In me, its often contempt. Using this chart can help you truly identify what you are feeling and with practice you may realize that you can change your dominant emotion to something else.
