Awkwardness when watching someone stutter on TV with friends/family

Awkwardness when watching someone stutter on TV with friends/family I can’t be the only one who finds it extremely awkward when you’re watching a movie or TV show with people and a stuttering character comes on. You can never laugh at them (like most stuttering characters are designed for) and you can tell your friends are holding in their laughter because you are with them. No one ever talks about it either. It’s crazy how the human brain can be so complex, yet inhibit some people from communicating normally for whatever factor.
