People who don't stutter have no understanding at all. They don't know what it's like to experience speech blocks and the anxiety around it. I sometimes feel that those who speak with ease (in my family) should for once experience what it's like to have blocks. They get irritated if we pause or prolong our speech with silence or they get impatient and I sometimes just stop talking or saying something that I badly want to say just because of these damn (oops sorry) blocks. I can't even go to the counter and get tickets without panicking or sometimes I have to totally avoid doing it because the people at the counters are so rude and if I just stand there without speaking that's sure to cause me more anxiety and make the situation worse. Also, sometimes they see those who stutter or suffer from blocks as inefficient and unintelligent people. The way they look or try to be dismissive even during arguments is so frustrating even with own family. Sorry for the rant. I'm so frustrated due to my blocks ruining my life.
