Yeah I had this just a few days ago with my dad and when I stuttered and repeated words like crazy, I paused but it was hard to reset my talking in a slow pattern and so I started talking very slowly and a lot of pausing. Maybe I should talk less but more concisely. At the same time people might see it as weird but if they know about the stuttering problem, they'll understand.
