I took an speech disorder and audiology class a long time ago and my professor said that for people who stutter, saying their name is one of the most difficult things. There’s not a real reason why that is but apparently it’s one of the hardest things to overcome. I think because I have been conditioned to anticipate saying my name then I become nervous about it. I have time to ruminate and think about messing up on it, therefore I do. In conversation I don’t really stutter at all, it’s just my name. i don’t know if that makes sense.
