I’m in college now, looking to pursue health science/medical school. My stutter still brings me a lot of trouble and I try to avoid speaking in class and stuff even though I know the answer or have an opinion for discussion. I don’t have as much disfluency as others, but it’s still a significant part of my life and I hope to one day not let it control me as much. I also haven’t had speech therapy in years because it didn’t really change anything or help. Acceptance and attempting to regulate my nervousness/anxiety when talking seems to help me the most (this method can create good and bad results, but I’ve been fluent at times with this and I’m hopeful).
