A few months ago I went to a restaurant with my parents. One worker asked “how many to seat” I held up three fingers and said “three of us”. I stuttered once but it was mild. She was looking right at me and we looked at each other for a very awkward moment. Then my dad said “there’s three of us” and it’s like she came alive again and said “yes a table for three”. I seriously asked my parents “I was talking right? I didn’t imagine that?” Maybe she was having a brain fart or something. Didn’t like that feeling though, like I was invisible.
