I honestly think it's better for me to practice talking in situations where there's less pressure. My stutter is severe and I can guarantee you if I had to talk on the phone for my job I would get hung up on and complained about and fired (though the chances of me getting a job like that in the first place are slim). No one wants to wait minutes for someone to say what takes normal people seconds.
