First, health checkup. You'd hate to have an undiagnosed brain tumor or something. Make sure you mention the stuttering to your doctor. But also, what else is going on in your life? (I'm not necessarily looking for an answer you need to share, just something for you to consider). I developed a stutter during an abusive relationship, I don't recall stuttering as a child though my mom said I had a very minor one when I was 3-4. It never really went away after that abusive relationship. When I'm feeling triggered about something or not feeling confident in myself, it goes on an upswing. A couple months ago I was having a little trouble at work, and my boss (rightly) had a Come to Jesus meeting with me. But it killed my confidence speaking to him for a while. My stutter went on an upswing in general but became absolutely awful when speaking to him. What a shit show. I got the project I dropped the ball on back under control and my boss has never mentioned it again, and my stutter has calmed down again, mostly.
