I think when I was younger my stutter definitely pacified me. A large part of it was because I wasn’t processing the emotions it made me feel when I would be silent say, in a group of people or when I was talking with my friends. It was easier to ignore it so I didn’t think about it too much and yeah that pacified me. Now that I’m in my 20s though I think about it a lot and I’m really processing my emotions with it because I’m faced with them every day. You don’t even let the stutter pacify you, it just happens. It’s important to think about your emotions, process it, face the pain it makes you feel and find a place where you can be happy with who you are.
