In interviews, have you tried bringing it up in your introduction/before the interview starts? It can boost confidence and make you have more direct eye contact. Usually employers like to see someone who is confident in themselves. Something like, "Before we get started I want to let you know it may take me a little while to get my words out but I am currently practicing getting better at my public speaking."
