Perhaps you would be successful, perhaps there'd be another thing that would stop you from doing something with your life. Also, it doesn't limit you to low paying jobs. There are numerous occupations where you don't need huge amount of communication. I am studying computer science, got the job as a student despite my stutter and it pays even now better than most low paying jobs. So, I for a fact can tell you that you can be successful at life despite your sutter.
