Actually, for me it's often the opposite. Like, I'm talking and feeling pretty fluent and have forgotten that I even stutter and then BAM. Out of nowhere I'm blocking on a word and can't get it out. Also, the most recent evidence shows that stuttering is neurological in origin. Anxiety can make it worse, but anxiety isn't the whole story. Stuttering isn't our fault.
