It's the same concept of seeking treatment from a LCDC Counselor that has actual history of drug/alcohol abuse rather than an LCDC Counselor that only has book experience. I need to know that my speech therapist and/or stuttering life coach has a stutter so that they can instantly emphasize with my situation and offer solutions and/or techniques to help me. (My back story: I've been stuttering since age 5 and I've gone through 20 years of speech therapy & hypnosis and I have 90% fluency. I still have blocks but I learned to take my time and diaphragmatically breathe.)
