I had the same issue, but over time I've learned to manage it well. Knowledge about the mechanics of whats causing is important: These are symptoms of mild social anxiety, which i guess lot of non stutterers also have. For us its more visible because we tend to block/stutter as a response to this. Look into cognitive behavior therapy for social anxiety, either with a therapist, or read a book that explains it better. It helped me immensely, mostly in understanding whats the cause, and coming up with a plan to overcome it.
