My dear friend with an otherwise fairly severe stutter somehow manages to host a live radio show. I don't quite know how he does it, but from talking to him it seems that he does three main things. He practices the things he's planning to say in advance, calls out/celebrates his stutter right away so it's not an elephant in the room, and has some speech therapy targets that he focuses on throughout the broadcast. He's told me before how as a younger man he worked very hard to hide his stutter and participated in a special fluency program. He doesn't try to hide his stutter anymore, but I am not sure how much that has influenced his ability to move forward in these situations. I am sure that I'm so dang proud of him for putting himself out there like that over and over again. I'll reach out to him and report back. <3
