Reading and playing board games is very similar to how my speech therapy went when I was younger. It's a good way to get children talking and interacting while distracting you from your speech. It's quite common in children's mental health therapy to get them doing activities to distract them and allow them to open up. Obviously, if she laughed at your stutter and not what you said, that was very unprofessional of her. I encourage you to not discount continued speech or mental therapy because of this one experience. I found as an adult, that speech therapy needed to be tied to my mental health therapy. And Eventually I transitioned to all mental health therapy. My stuttering was tied up a lot into my mental health. Yes it's there, even on my best days, but it's much worse when I'm dealing with stress and anxiety and worry.
