I was a late onset stutterer too. I started stuttering at 19 after going through a traumatic experience of losing my mom and not dealing with how I felt. However, after 4 years my speech has improved to the point where I’m now working at a call center. Everyone is different though. My advice is, it’ll get worse before it gets better. Mainly because I started to become embarrassed and made my whole identity as someone who stuttered instead of other qualities I had. I made stuttering a roadblock for a lot of things I wish I could go back and do. What worked best for me was to put myself out there and practice my speech. At first it seems like nothing will change but eventually things get better. I practice by talking on the phone a lot, forcing myself to order by phone and reading a speech therapy book
