I know what you mean. In my class, I'm fairly popular as in many people look up to me because of my social nature (and yes, I stutter) and good grades. Then, it was time for oral presentations and I freaked because my class had built me up so much into this "really cool guy" and I figured it would come tumbling down when they saw me stutter.. not a few uhms or uhhs but I mean long blocks, fluttering of letters like a madman. When the presentation came around, I did just as described above and the class was very patient. Afterwards I realized nothing changed.. they still treated me the same way. If anything.. they felt closer as in being more engaging and playful. This girl was even hitting on me hardcore. I think its all in our heads. That stuttering is just another part of our personality and nothing to be ashamed of. Peace
