Hi! Thank you for responding :) As far as how it has compromised my self esteem. Having to think the same exact thought twice reduces my speed at coming to conclusions. An average person may think; thing 1> thing 2> thing 3> solution> say "I have the solution" While the experience for myself is, think; thing 1> thing 1> thing 2> thing 2> hear person say "I have the solution".. then I give up, or ignore the person and continue finding the solution. I am a very large person, 6'4" always bigger than anyone else. And where I grew up, big == dumb. These and other factors caused a cascade and absolutely demolished my self esteem, and eventually my faith in human beings in general. But hey here I am. As far as the therapist.. I remember specifically that my family was relieved that I had the kind of stuttering that could be addressed with therapy. I had the distinct feeling that their methods where state of the art for the time. And I think a lot of it was about making sure I say everything in my mind before I speak. But memory is tricky maybe this never happened. I just don't know for sure.
