Most speech therapists have literally zero training in treating dysfluency - and most of what they tell you makes it worse. I'm trying to explain something that's very counterintuitive. You don't have to believe me. But, you also can experiment with this to see what happens. When you are thinking "I have to hide it", that makes your vocal chords clamp shut. If you want your vocal chords to function normally, you have to stop TRYING to hide it. For almost all of us here, it's at its worse when hiding it. I once went 3 days without heat/hot water in the dead of winter becuase I was simply too scared to even call to get it fixed. I get it. By letting people hear me stutter, I have become almost completely fluent. It's scary at first, but if you commit to it, you will almost definitely become quite fluent, and it will last forever (as long as you keep up the tiny little practices).
