I'm not a professional in this and don't feel comfortable telling someone what to do, especially as I don't have any firsthand knowledge of the situation. I had the same problem with my parents not supporting speech therapy. I'm seeing a speech therapist now and they bug me about it, even though they aren't paying for it. It kind of bothers me because it feels like they don't want to see me improve. Maybe some people either don't think therapy works or think that if their kid goes to therapy, it's somehow a reflection on their parenting?
